The percent of students who participated in the state’s statewide annual assessment required under ESSA. The law requires that 95 percent of all students and of each subgroup of students be included in the assessment in order to prevent the exclusion of students who are historically marginalized and to ensure there is sufficient data to understand how whole schools and districts are doing.
